Jinja, Uganda

This past year I got the chance to spend the summer in Jinja, Uganda. While I was there, I got to travel around some on the weekends. Uganda is a beautiful country in East Africa. There are many attractions there as well as organizations to volunteer with. Lake Victoria is the world's largest freshwater tropical lake. This is where the Nile River begins. There are many beautiful national parks there and places to go on Safaris. While I was there I got the chance to visit Murchison Falls National Park. Additionally, Sipi Falls is another popular place to visit when in Uganda. It is a series of three waterfalls in the district of Kapchorwa. Sipi Falls is a stunning site, with many activities and places to hike. There are also many fun things to do locally, such as visiting the local markets or farmers market.

The Nile River is the world's longest river. The source of the Nile starts in Jinja, Uganda at Lake Victoria. The river is 6696km long and pours water to over nine countries. There are many activities that are done on the Nile River. Some of these activities include, rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking and boat rides. The Nile River helps provide power and is a source of energy for those who live there.
